Equine Mortality Coverage

Coverage is provided for death as a result of injury, illness, humane destruction and transportation anywhere in the continental United States. Coverage can be extended to include other countries and international transportation.

Following Endorsements are available to Mortality policy:

1. Major Medical & Surgical - Cover is provided for the reasonable and customary cost of all medical & surgical procedures. Maximum limit is $x,xxx and is subject to $xxx deductible per illness, injury or incident. Cost: $xxx Annually.

2. Surgical Only - Provides coverage for the actual cost of surgery and additionally pays up to 25% of the cost of surgery for medication and additional expenses. Maximum limit is $x,xxx and is subject to "zero" deductible. Cost: $xxx Annually.

3. Loss of Use (Injury Only) - This coverage is available in the event that your horse is permanently unable to perform its function as a result of an external accident or violent injury. Provides payment of up to 605 of the amount of indemnity due under the mortality policy. Rates are based on use, sex and age. (Estimated: 1.8% of insured amount). BREEDING IS NOT COVERED UNDER LOSS OF USE.

4. Stallion A.S. & D. - In the event your proven stud becomes permanently incapable of impregnating mares as a result of accident, sickness or disease, you will receive payment not to exceed the amount of indemnity due under the mortality policy. Coverage is charged at a rate of 1% of the stallions insured amount. Note: this coverage requires a satisfactory fertility examination by a certified veterinarian.

NAMED PERILS POLICY

This policy covers death as a direct result of fire, lightning, explosion, or resultant smoke, plus other coverage including a peril of transportation, windstorm, earthquake or flood. Death by visible means only.
